Inaugurated Ro-Ro ferry service by PM Modi in Bhavnagar, Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday inaugurated the first phase of the Rs 615 crore roll on-roll off (Ro-Ro) ferry service between Ghogha and Dahej in Gujarat. The 31-kilometre service will cut down the travel time between the two towns from “seven or eight hours to just over an hour”. The ferry can accommodate 1,000 passengers and can carry 150 vehicles.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in poll-bound Gujarat today, a third time this month, where he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for a number of projects in Bhavnagar and Vadodara. PM Modi inaugurated the first phase of a Rs. 650 crore ferry service between Ghogha in Bhavnagar and Dahej in Bharuch in the Gulf of Cambay. He addressed a gathering in Dahej after taking the ferry from Ghogha. From Dahej,

PM Modi arrived in Vadodara, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for projects worth over Rs. 1,140 crore. PM Modi is visiting Gujarat for the third time this month. The Election Commission has not yet announced the dates for the assembly elections in Gujarat. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been in power for the last two decades in Gujarat.
