PATNA: Keeping up the pressure on Bihar politician Lalu Yadav’s family that has been (charged with a crime) of dishonest (in a way that ruins your trust) land deals, the Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday called for Lalu Yadav’s wife Rabri Devi to its Delhi office next week to record her statement.
The (service business/government unit/power/functioning), along with the Central Bureau of (act of asking questions and trying to find the truth about something) and tax people in charge, a reproving charges that Lalu Yadav, as the country’s railways minister in 2006, had helped a contract to a private company to run hotels at Jharkhand capital Ranchi and Odisha’s Puri after receiving a (payment of money to get a favor) in the form of a three-(area of land about 200 feet X 220 feet) plot in Patna, where a mall is being built.
Tax people in charge have already attached the land under the tough law to control/to reduce(related to being a substitute for someone or something) ownership of valuable things and theUnion (surrounding conditions) Ministry had halted construction of the mall for violation of(related to surrounding conditions or the health of the Earth) laws.
The CBI had broken into the Yadav household after registering a case in July this year. Tax(people in charge of something) and the Enforcement Directorate had moved in soon after. Theincome tax people in charge are looking into reports that Lalu Yadav’s family had violated the lawagainst ownership of valuable things through proxies while the directorate is (asking lots of questions about/trying to find the truth about) legal accusations of hiding illegally-gotten money.
Rabri Devi was last questioned in this case on 29 August, two days after Lalu Yadav, 69, organised a public meeting to motivate and excite (fighting force/bad feelings) forces against the BJP-led NDA in Bihar capital Patna. That was by the income tax people in charge.
Sources said the Enforcement Directorate had called for her on next Tuesday, 26 September.
Husband Lalu Yadav and son Tejashwi Yadav, who became the Leader of (fighting force/bad feelings) in the (group of people/device made up of smaller parts), are also expected to bequestioned by the CBI a week later, in early October.
Lalu Yadav has called the many cases that his family is facing as “political long-term, angry fight”.
But there is no end to the troubles of the chief of the Rashtriya Janata Party, which was part ofthe Bihar government till Chief Minister Nitish Kumar dumped them in July and chose to go alongwith the BJP led by Sushil Kumar Modi in the state.
Mr Modi, who had first leveled legal accusations of (dishonest actions that ruin your trust) against Tejashwi Yadav that led to the CBI probe, continued the offensive. On Tuesday, the BJP leader who was selected Deputy Chief Minister after his party extended support to Nitish Kumar, released documents that showed the mall being built by Lalu Yadav’s family was being built without any approvals from the building department.
